lately

Today we signed the big one up for middle school. It's more than surreal. Going from lunch boxes, assigned seats and a backpack with his name on it to this much bigger, farther from home place with new people and new influences and less parental involvement. I think that's the big thing. I can't just be there, helping out in classrooms, casually showing up to lunch. Your mom is probably the last person you want to see at lunch in sixth grade, right after Elmo. I know he will have so much fun in all his awesome classes. That's the reason we chose this school that we Love and feel so good about getting him in to. He gets to take things like aviation and 2D animation and guitar. Yes, it will be awesome.

We were a family of six this weekend. It was a different schedule than we are used to. For example, getting out of the house with four kids took ten times as long (it was cold outside=searching for outerwear) and twice as many cars. Lots of silliness, multiple viewings of Star Wars episode VI and a few naps.
